Lead of team

We are looking for a Legal & Licensing Lead to take ownership of gaming licensing and regulatory compliance across multiple international jurisdictions. The role combines hands-on licensing, corporate and commercial legal work, regulatory advisory, and legal team leadership. You will independently manage licensing processes, work directly with regulators and local agents, advise on complex corporate structures and transactions, and build scalable legal processes and a high-performing team. We are looking for a legal professional with proven hands-on experience obtaining and maintaining offshore gaming licences and a strong understanding of the international iGaming regulatory landscape.

Responsibilities

Licensing and Regulatory Compliance

• Managing the full cycle of obtaining gaming licences across multiple jurisdictions (Curaçao, Anjouan, Tobique, Costa Rica, Kahnawà, and others), including application submission, document preparation, and communication with regulators.
• Maintaining and renewing existing licences, including annual reporting, fit-and-proper checks, notifications of changes in ownership structures, and compliance audits.
• Monitoring regulatory developments (including the Curaçao licensing reform and the new direct licensing regime through the CGA) and adapting clients’ compliance frameworks accordingly.
• Direct communication with licensing authorities, regulators, and local agents.

Legal Support for Clients

• Providing comprehensive legal support throughout all stages of licensing and ongoing business operations.
• Analysing and advising on clients’ business and ownership structures, taking into account regulatory and banking requirements.
• Drafting and reviewing client-facing documentation, including Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policies, Bonus Terms and Conditions, and Responsible Gambling Policies.

Team Management

• Building, managing, and mentoring a team of lawyers.
• Setting KPIs, allocating workloads, and ensuring the quality and consistency of legal deliverables.
• Implementing internal processes, templates, and knowledge bases for the legal function.

Corporate Law, M&A and Commercial Transactions

• Corporate structuring.
• Supporting M&A transactions.
• Drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, including gaming content and aggregator agreements, B2B software supply agreements, partnership agreements, white-label agreements, and PSP/payment service agreements.

Risk Management and Legal Strategy

• Identifying and mitigating legal and regulatory risks.
• Developing strategic legal roadmaps.
• Preparing legal opinions and risk assessments for entering new jurisdictions, including data protection (GDPR), geo-blocking requirements, and analysis of restricted and prohibited territories.

Requirements

• University degree in Law.
• 3–5+ years of professional experience in iGaming and licensing.
• Hands-on experience in obtaining and maintaining offshore gaming licences (direct ownership of the process rather than supporting or participating in it), including Curaçao, Anjouan, Tobique, Kahnawà, and other jurisdictions.
• Experience managing and scaling a legal team.
• Experience working with international iGaming operators, aggregators, and B2B providers.
• Deep understanding of regulatory requirements across key gaming jurisdictions, including the current Curaçao licensing reform.
• Knowledge of responsible gambling principles and requirements.
• Strong knowledge of corporate law.
• Experience building and scaling legal teams.
• Strong strategic planning and project management skills.
• Ability to operate effectively in a rapidly changing regulatory environment.
• Languages: English and Russian — both mandatory.
