Commercial Lawyer
Responsibilities
Commercial Law
- Draft, review, and negotiate referral agreements, partnership agreements, non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), service agreement and other commercial contracts
- Review and advise on terms and conditions for services
- Review marketing materials for legal compliance, ensuring adherence to advertising regulations and intellectual property requirements
- Provide day-to-day legal support to commercial and business development teams
- Identify and mitigate legal risks across commercial operations
Employment & Labour Law
- Draft, review, and advise on employment agreements
- Prepare and review termination letters and related documentation
- Advise on compliance with Cyprus employment and labour legislation
- Support HR on employee relations matters, disciplinary procedures, and workplace policies
Immigration Law
- Advise on work permit and residence permit applications for employees and third-country nationals
- Ensure compliance with Cyprus immigration legislation and regulatory requirements
- Liaise with the Civil Registry and Migration Department and other relevant authorities on behalf of the company
- Monitor changes in immigration law and policy that may affect the business or its workforce
General
- Monitor changes in relevant Cyprus legislation and advise the business accordingly
- Liaise with external counsel where required
- Contribute to the development and improvement of internal legal processes, templates, and policies
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Law degree (LLB or equivalent); admission to the Cyprus Bar Association
- Minimum of 3 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in commercial law
- Demonstrated knowledge of Cyprus commercial, employment/labour, and immigration law
- Experience drafting and negotiating a variety of commercial agreements
Languages
- English — fluent (written and spoken) (required)
- Greek — fluent (written and spoken) (required)
- Russian — proficient (written and spoken) (highly advantageous)
