Ohi Day: Courage in One Word

On 28 October, Cyprus and Greece celebrate Ohi Day, a holiday built around a single word: “Όχι” (Ohi), which means “No”. It marks the moment in 1940 when the country chose to defend its freedom.

At its heart, Ohi Day is about courage, unity and holding on to what you believe in when it matters most. 86 years later, Cyprus still celebrates it with parades, blue-and-white flags on balconies and schoolchildren marching through town centres.

The values behind Ohi Day are close to our own: honesty, integrity and the confidence to give a clear answer, even when it isn’t the easy one. That matters to a company whose name is built around questions and answers.

This Wednesday, the OpiniQ team is stepping away from the inbox to spend time with family and friends. We’ll be back on Thursday.
